With that in mind, I spent the afternoon listening to everyone's thoughts but my own, and pounced on randoms CDs. Got to listen to Mr. Cobain talking about how Polly's back hurts, Mr. Warlow talking about how the people have not heard, as if I didn't bloody well know that, Bjork talking about how this time she's gonna keep her all to herself, Ms. Dover talking about selling her spinning wheel, and Ms. Dickinson urging me to help robins and laugh at cats. That last one is a book, just to clarify. I'm afraid I don't own an Emily Dickinson CD. Its an interesting concept, though, setting her poems to music. It might get a bit redundant, seeing as most of them can be sung to the tune of "Amazing Grace" anyway, but the ever-versatile music industry could fix that; they'll make it sell somehow... Now there's an interesting thought: an Emily Dickinson rap CD. Give old classics a catchy modern sound, see to it that the lyric booklets contain minimalist analyses of the poems, and high school English students will love it. Eminem could do the vocals and the CD itself could be called Em and Eminem. Why is it no one's ever thought of this before? Argh. Yes, well, midterm madness is eating away at the remains of my brain. Two more to go, then a lovely long weekend. That's something to look forward to, anyway. Adieu.
