spinning almonds

10:39 p.m. - 2002-01-26

A plague on my lousy people skills, though I suppose, in effect, I'd be casting a plague on my entire being. Ah well, no matter. A plague on them anyway.

I've been online for ages talking to Reyu, Mao, and Hortensio about various things. Recently, I IMed Mao and tragically requested she shoot me on sight. Silly of me, it'd only get her expelled and cause a small ripple of concern. Besides, its not as though any self-respecting IB student's bookbag isn't heavy enough already without the added burden of a firearm. I apologize, Mao, for placing such a burden on you (take the pun if you like, I can't pull out any spiffy witticisms at the moment). Disregard, etc.

Dios mios...

Anyway, I was quoting Good Omens at dinner last night and the littlest Gorgon recognized the words (I read him a passage once), and asked which book they were from.

I told him.

"Oh," he repeated sagely. "Good Almonds."

Across the kitchen, the little Gorgon choked on his orange juice.

This puts a whole new spin on the novel, doesn't it?

Adieu.
